Call for Participation in The Complementary Medicines and Cosmetics Stakeholder Engagement

The Botswana Medicines Regulatory Authority (BoMRA) through the product evaluation and registration department invites Complementary Medicines & Cosmetics stakeholders (MAHs, Manufacturers, Distributors, Authourised Representatives, importers etc.) to participate in a stakeholder engagement to discuss various issues as stated below;

Guidelines

  • Updates to the Complementary Medicines guidelines,
  • Updates to the registrability guideline/Borderline Products guideline which aims to help stakeholders in the classification of products that are in the Food-Medicine interface, and
  • The Cosmetics listing and Labelling guidelines with the aim of providing guidance to stakeholders on cosmetics regulatory compliance.

Complementary Medicines Register

  • Proposed actions to different elements of the register including approved cosmetics, old products, and listed products and how the Authority intends to process these products.
  • Post-marketing authorization activities including renewals and retentions.

BRIMS

  • Progress thus far in the implementation of the system, and the next steps. Ongoing challenges and opportunities for improvement.

The sessions will be scheduled as follows:

The engagement will be virtual with sessions on Wednesday and Thursday the 9th and 10th of October 2024 from 0830 – 1300 hrs.
